Event Series Event Series: Fall Prevention Workshop 2-Part Series

Every 20 minutes an adult over 65 dies due to falls. Falling once doubles your risk of falling again. As we age, fall prevention becomes one of the most important aspects of healthy aging to keep us safe, independent, and active in our golden years.

In this 2-part Sunday afternoon workshop series, you will have fun, get to socialize, and meet new people as you learn, and practice fall prevention skills and techniques that will dramatically reduce your risk of falling!

Some of the important topics and skills that will be covered include:

  • what you can do to make your home fall-safe,
  • how to improve your balance with simple exercises,
  • how to move safely in an obstacle-filled environment,
  • how to improve body awareness and coordination, and
  • how to build your core and lower body strength all while having a good time!

This fall prevention series is presented by Healthy Aging Coach Holly Reese who recently gave an introduction to fall prevention skills and broke the Guinness World Record for the most push-ups in an hour at Unity of Walnut Creek!

Come join Holly to learn and practice fall prevention skills that may save your life or that of a loved one!

If a person pays the whole class fee in advance, the cost of the series is $40 or $20/class. If they pay at the door, it’s $50 or $25/class.

About the Instructor:

Holly’s lifelong passion for health and fitness instigated her pivot away from a successful career as a firmware designer, with an Electrical Engineering Degree from M.I.T., to become a Healthy Aging Coach.

She has trained in various martial arts since the age of 12, earning black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu. Her credentials also include a license in Acupuncture with a focus on orthopedic acupuncture and Medical Qigong, a NASM certification as a personal trainer with specializations in corrective exercise and senior fitness. She is a doctoral student in Health Education and Promotion at Walden University.
