Unity of Walnut Creek’s Earth Care Alliance is hosting an Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

Please join us at this inaugural event that will focus on the Lakota culture.

The celebration will begin in the Community Room with a blessing, a traditional dance demonstration and a taste of Indigenous food that will include buffalo frybread tacos, the ‘Three Sisters’ (squash, beans and corn) and Wojapi (mixed berry) dessert.

Then the celebration will move to the Sanctuary for a presentation of Lakota beliefs and cosmology by Tony Hoehner, a descendant of the Blackfoot Clan of the Lakota nation (his great, great grandfather pictured in the banner above).
